POLY - Survival Character & Customizer

Give a survivor cast its own identity with POLY - Survival Character & Customizer by Animpic Studio. Male and female character bases combine angular low-poly shapes with practical clothing and improvised protective details. The included Unity Character Studio brings appearance selection, colour controls, and look saving into a dedicated preview scene.

Clothing and Character Identity

Choose torso styles, trouser variants, and footwear to establish a character's silhouette. Layered jackets, shirts, fitted trousers, boots, wraps, and protective accents support the visual language of a group living with limited resources. Each character catalog includes 34 mesh parts, covering the head, clothing, hair, and headwear; the male catalog also includes beard options.

The customization system accounts for garment combinations. Selected trouser styles provide full-length and cropped variants, with high footwear selecting the appropriate cropped hem. Hats hide the separate hairstyle while worn, and the chosen hairstyle returns when the hat is removed. Male beards can be selected independently of hair and headwear.

Individual Colours

Adjust fabric, inserts, skin, hair, eyebrows, eyes, patches, and supported accessory surfaces to distinguish characters with the same clothing. The two catalogs define 124 independently addressable colour surfaces. Colours are retained for a detail while it is hidden by another option, allowing an outfit to be changed without discarding its individual colour choices.

Clothing tint targets fabric while preserving skin, eyes, hair, and patches. Restore controls return an individual detail or the full character to the supplied material colours. Colour changes use per-renderer material property blocks, preserving shared material assets and the other character's appearance.

Character Studio Workflow

Use the runtime studio interface, the Character workshop editor window, or the SurvivalCustomizer component in the Inspector to assemble a look. The supplied studio provides a podium, surrounding backdrop, lighting, and camera controls for rotation, zoom, view reset, and automatic rotation.

Save and load one look per character type on the current device through PlayerPrefs. The editor also supports JSON files for transferring saved appearance settings. Runtime catalog and customization scripts are included for integration into a project's own interface.

Scene Applications

Create a cast for a remote survivor camp, distinguish scavenging groups by clothing colours, or give an outpost's guards and residents different silhouettes. Reuse the same character bases with different garments and personal details to build visual relationships between groups. These are suggested character roles; the pack does not establish combat, inventory, or AI gameplay systems.

Technical Information

• Delivery format: Unity .unitypackage containing two FBX files, two character prefabs, two scenes, and customization scripts.
• The included documentation specifies Unity 2021.3 with the Built-in Render Pipeline and Humanoid character avatars.
• The studio requires the standard Unity UI package, com.unity.ugui.
